Start or continue your contraceptive pill, or get emergency contraception, directly with our pharmacist. Free on the NHS, no GP appointment, and a private consultation room — usually with your supply the same day.
Available to those aged 16 and up to 49 (combined pill) or 54 (progestogen-only pill). Eligibility is confirmed at consultation.
Starting the pill, continuing it, or emergency contraception. The NHS service covers all three. Which one applies to you just changes what we talk about in the consultation.
If you have not been on oral contraception before, or you are coming back to it after a break, our pharmacist can assess you and start you on a suitable pill.
If you are running low and your GP appointment is weeks away, we can review and continue your existing supply without you needing to go back to the surgery.
If you need emergency contraception, our pharmacist can assess you and supply it directly, free on the NHS, without an appointment with your GP.
The service is available to anyone aged 16 or above who needs to start or continue oral contraception.
You do not need one. Come to us instead — no referral, and appointments are usually available quickly.
Travelling, moved recently, or simply lost track of your supply. We can review and continue it rather than leaving you with a gap.
If your current pill is not agreeing with you, our pharmacist can talk through the alternatives and switch you where appropriate.
Book online or call us. No referral, and nothing to arrange with your GP first.
A confidential chat in our consultation room about your health, your medication and what you are looking for. We will check your blood pressure and BMI where that is needed.
If the pill is suitable for you, we supply it there and then, free on the NHS, and explain exactly how to take it.
Nothing. This is a free NHS service, and the pill itself is supplied free too.
No. You can come straight to us — no referral, no prescription from the surgery, and no need to explain yourself to anyone first.
Both the combined pill and the progestogen-only pill (the mini pill). Our pharmacist will talk through which is more suitable for you based on your health and what you are looking for.
Yes. The consultation takes place in a private room, and everything discussed is confidential in exactly the same way as it would be with your GP. We do notify your GP practice so your record stays accurate.
The service is available from age 16. If you are younger and need advice, come in anyway — we will help you find the right service.
Usually around 15 to 20 minutes. Starting the pill for the first time takes a little longer than continuing an existing supply.
If you are already on the pill, bring the packet or the name of it. Otherwise just bring a list of any medication you take and any conditions you have.
No — this service covers the pill only. For long-acting methods such as the coil, implant or injection, speak to your GP or a local sexual health clinic. We can point you in the right direction.
